Dry River Martinborough Late Harvest Riesling 2011

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 24-Feb-2012
Late-picked Riesling fruit without any botrytis infection from the ‘Craighall' site, fermented to 9.0% alc. and 60 g/L rs. Brilliant straw-yellow colour with very light golden hues, pale on edge. This has a very fine, tight nose with penetrating aromatics of exotic florals, limes, stonefruits, musk and talc, along with a steely, minerally edge to the expression. Sweet to taste, this has an attractive amalgam of honeysuckle, musk and citrus fruits, enlivened by slippery acidity and very smooth, near unctuous textures. This has great poise, tension and cut, and the palate exudes refinement with raciness. A long lingering zesty finish with subtle floral and honey notes is a feature. This will develop real complexity over the next 5-8 years. Serve as an aperitif or with fresh fruit desserts. 19.0-/20 Feb 2012 RRP $59.00
