Dry River ‘Lovat’ Martinborough Gewurztraminer 2012

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 11-Apr-2013
Bright, full, straw-yellow colour with pale golden hints, pale on edge. This has an elegant and tightly constrained bouquet with focused aromas of rose-petal and musky aromatics with layers of exotic tropical fruits. Medium-dryish to taste, gentle and refined flavours of roses, musk and honey build with increasing lusciousness, forming a concentrated palate line. This has excellent drive and alcoholic power in support, the mouthfeel showing very smooth textures and harmony, with discreet acidity. The flavours possess delicacy and fine detail and lead to a refined, long finish. This is an elegant, focussed and detailed medium-dry Gewurztraminer with smooth texture and power. Serve with Middle Eastern and Asian fare over the next 4-5+ years. Fruit from 20 y.o. vines from the ‘Lovat’ vineyard, stainless-steel fermented to 14.5% alc. and 25 g/L rs. 18.5/20 Apr 2013 RRP $44.00
