Dry River ‘Dry River Estate’ Martinborough Viognier 2011

Viognier from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 24-Aug-2011
Bright straw-yellow with pale edge and green hues to the colour, the bouquet is very finely expressed with intense and concentrated aromas of jasmine, exotic perfumes and hints of spices. Some alcohol is noticeable, but the aromatics are fresh and have elegance. Medium to off-dry to taste, this has good body and weight, the palate featuring bright and fresh acidity enhancing the precise jasmine floral fruitiness and adding a slipperiness to the textures. A warm, rich and lush unctuousness fills the mouth and carries the exotic flavours to the soft, gently sweet finish. Fruit from 10 y.o. vines from the ‘Dry River Estate', stainless-steel fermented to 14.16% alc. and 20 g/L rs, with no MLF or lees work. Serve with rich Asian and Mediterranean seafood and poultry dishes over the next 3-4+ years. 18.0/20 Aug 2011 RRP $46.00
