Dry River ‘’Craighall’ Martinborough Late Harvest Riesling 2012

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 30-Nov-2013
Fruit from the ‘Craighall’ vineyard with approx. 15% botrytis infection, fermented to 10.5% alc. and 65 g/L rs, with a TA of around 10 g/L and a pH of 2.9. Brilliant straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues, pale on rim. The nose features delicately interwoven aromas of lifted lime fruit and exotic florals with notes of honey, and sherbetty talc botrytis, revealing mouthwatering nuances of lemonade, mineral and steel. Medium-sweet, an array of delicately rich and subtly exotic flavours feature on the palate. Limes, white stonefruits, yellow florals, honey and talc intermingle with energy and vitality, enlivened by beautifully bright, lacy acidity. The mouthfeel is racy and very refined, and the finish is long and sustained, with floral, honey and sherbet flavours. This is a refined and delicately flavoured late-harvest Riesling with the acid poise to see it age 6-8+ years. Serve as an aperitif, with mildly-spiced foods or with fruit and light desserts. 19.0/20 Apr 2013 RRP $59.00
