Dry River ‘Amaranth’ ‘Craighall’ Martinborough Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 05-Sep-2013
Brilliant, light straw-yellow colour with pale green hues on rim. This has a very refined, tightly bound and intense nose with beautifully pure lime and white floral aromas and detailed, delicate mineral and steely elements. Very dry to taste, a concentrated, extremely fine and tight core is the feature of the palate. Lifted floral and citrus fruits and minerals show great fruit extract and presence alongside, crisp, mouthwatering wet stone acidity. Nuances of succulent citrus fruits and florals unfold slowly in the glass and are carried to a very long, sustained citrus and white floral finish. This is an extremely refined and tightly concentrated, dry Riesling with delicate floral and citrus flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and Asian fare over the next 7-9 years. The ‘Amaranth’ designation signifies Dry River’s belief the wine will age with significant interest. Fruit from vines over 20 y.o., cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 11.5% alc. and 6 g/L RS, with 8.7 g/L TA and a 2.7 pH. 19.0/20 Sep 2013 RRP $44.00
