Drummond Farm Pinot Noir 2018, Martinborough

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 09-Jun-2021
Light ruby-red with a slight tan, faintly hazy, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full and herbaceous, aromas of thyme, dusty spices melded with black cherries, raspberries. Medium-bodied, aromas of raspberries enriched by black cherries, along with dried herbs, cinnamon and nutmeg. Fine-grained tannin reminiscent of black tea contributes to some grip. Subtle spices and black pepper linger to a moderately long finish. Match with duck and pork over the next 3 years. Fermented to 12.5% alc, aged in neutral oak for 13 months. Unfined, unfiltered, minimal sulphur addition. 17.5/ 20 pts (88 pts) June 2021 RRP $37
