Drummond Farm Happy Jack Sauvignon Blanc 2020, Martinborough

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 09-Jun-2021
Bright, pale yellow-gold, even colour throughout. The nose is full and aromatic, nuances of hay, yellow floral melded with green herbs, underlined ripe stonefruit, passionfruit and a subtle whiff of smoke. Medium-bodied, the flavours are full and concentrated with ripe apricot, passionfruit intermix honeysuckle, hay and a hint of honey. Grassy, herbaceous notes unfold, linger with subtle spices. A rich mouthfeel supported by concentration and fine-textured phenolic with a light grip; zingy acidity drawn a long and savoury finish. This is a full-flavoured Sauvignon Blanc with richness and attention on a textural palate. Match with herb-crusted pork and grilled swordfish over the next 3-4 years. Organic and dry-framed fruit, one-third wild fermented in barrel, the rest fermented in stainless with inoculated yeast. 12.5% alc. 18.5-/20 pts (92 pts) June 2021 RRP $30
