Drouhin-Vaudon Chablis 2012

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 06-Nov-2013
Brilliant, pale straw-yellow colour with sligjht green hues, pale on rim. The bouquet is fresh and elegant with subtle white stonefruit aromas along with delicate mineral and flinty nuances, revealing white florals, a touch of sulphide funkiness and mouthwatering wet-stone notes. Dry and light-bodied, clear and pure white stonefruit and flinty flavours open out revealing a little succulence. The mouthfeel is soft and gentle with lacy acidity enlivening the fruit. The acidity and fine textures drive the palate with linearity to a long, mouthwatering finish with good presence. This is a classical, clear and vinous, unoaked Chablis with white floral and flinty nuances. Serve with tapas and shellfish over the next 3+ years. Chardonnay fruit from company vineyards with contracted fruit and must fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine aged 7-8 months in vat. 17.5/20 Nov 2013 RRP $34.50
