Drouhin-Vaudon Chablis 1er ‘Fourchaume’ 2014

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 12-May-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is soft and gently full with aromas of white stonefruits interwoven with chalky minerals and subtle flint notes, the aromatics combining a delicate richness with a degree of mouthwatering freshness. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses light and fresh flavours of white and yellow stonefruits underlined by fine flint and mineral notes. The mouthfeel is soft and has a little ichness with reserved, lacy acidity lending energy and balance, and the wine carries to a light, soft and dry finish. This is a soft, light dry Chablis 1er Cru with stonefruit, flint and mineral notes and a balanced palate. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 3 years. Hand-picked fruit from ‘Fourchaume’, fermented in tank to12.5% alc., the wine aged 7-8 months in tank on lees. 16.5+/20 May 2016 RRP $71.99
