Drouhin-Vaudon Chablis 1er ‘Fourchaume’ 2011

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 06-Nov-2013
Full straw-yellow colour with light golden hues with some depth. The bouquet is soft, full and broad with open aromas of mineral-infused yellow stonefruitd, florals and nutty, oxidative elements alongside minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has good presence and moderately mouthfilling weight from yellow stonefruit and nutty flavours that open out with breadth. Soft and rounded, the mouthfeel tends to dryness and shows a little textural thread. The wine carries through to show a racy, slippery finish from the acidity. This is an up-front, broader Chablis 1er cru with stonefruit and nutty flavours and a racy, dry finish. Serve with seafood and white meats over the next 3+ years. Chardonnay fruit and must from contract suppliers fermented to 12.5% and aged in stainless steel 7-8 months. 17.0/20 Nov 2013 RRP $57.00
