Bright, even straw-yellow colour with pale golden hues, lighter on the rim. This has a full, broad nose with fine expression and a firm heart of citrus fruit melded with ripe yellow stonefruits, nutty lees and oak and creamy barrel-ferment elements, unfolding some complexing flinty interest. Medium bodied, the fruit flavours of ripe yellow stonefruits and savoury citrus fruits are harmoniously interwoven with layers of nutty notes. The mouthfeel is luscious and moderately rich, well-balanced by crisp and racy acidity enlivening the mouthfeel. Rounded, creamy barrel-ferment, nutty oak and nuances of butterscotch add subtle complexing detail and the wine carries to a very long, nutty finish. This is a rich stonefruit and citrus-fruited Meursault with creamy, nutty layers and a lively, youthful mouthfeel. Match with poultry and pork over the next 5-6 years. Fruit and must from Meursault, fully barrel-fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 25% new oak. 18.0+/20 May 2016 RRP $101.99
