Dr Renwick Marlborough Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Jun-2012
Fruit fully destemmed and given a cold soak, indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 18 months in seasoned oak barrels. Light, even ruby-red colour with slight garnet hues. This has a light, soft nose with up-front and uncomplicated dark berry fruit aromas along with some dried herb notes and savoury red florals. Medium-light bodied, clean strawberry and herbal, spicy fruit flavours along with sweet raspberry elements are subtly expressed and supported by supple tannins and fresh acidity. There is good presence and some richness builds, carrying through to a finish with good length. This is a restrained, but accessible Pinot Noir that has balanced richness and good mouthfeel. Match with poultry and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. 16.0+/20 Jun 2012 RRP $17.00
