Dr Renwick Marlborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 22-Aug-2013
Two picks of Pinot Gris fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 7.6 g/L RS, the wine given lees contact. Bright straw-yellow colour with some depth, lighter on rim. The nose is full with well-packed aromas of nuts and stonefruits, steely minerals and butterscotch MLF-like elements. Dry to taste, soft and broad flavours of yellow stonefruits, citrus fruits and butterscotch fill the palate with good weight and presence. This is quite up-front. A light, textural line is balanced by slippery acidity and mouthfeel, and the flavours lead to a light, subtly and dry finish. This is an up-front and open, dry Pinot Gris with yellow fruit and butterscotch overtones. Match with tapas or Middle Eastern fare over the next 2+ years. 16.5-/20 Aug 2013 RRP $15.99
