Dr Renwick Marlborough Dry Riesling 2009

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Jun-2012
Bright lemon-straw yellow colour with some green hues. The nose is firm with intense aromas of limes and lemons, along with wet stone and mineral elements. Dryish to taste, up-front and openly expressed lime and apple flavours are carried through the palate with a soft textural line. The acidity is in the background and the wine has a dry, firm, but restrained core. There is depth and weight which carries through to a crisp finish showing a little toasty interest. This is a dry, firm and linear Riesling with some weight and textures to match with Asian cuisine over the next 2-3+ years. The fruit was cold soaked and cool-fermented to 11.9% alc. and 6 g/L rs, the wine given 3 weeks on lees 16.0-/20 Jun 2012 RRP $15.20
