Dr Renwick Marlborough Chardonnay 2009

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 22-Aug-2013
Moderately deep straw-yellow colour with golden hues, pale on rim. This has a fill, broad and mellow bouquet with a complex melange of savoury yellow stonefruits, citrus fruits, nuts and butterscotch MLF notes forming a dense core. Full-bodied, the flavours of savoury yellow fruits and sour citrus fruits are integrated with nuts and butter element. This is rounded in mouthfeel with good acidity adding energy. Some alcohol power and drive emerges and carries the palate to a long, slightly hot finish with citrus notes. This is a full, savoury and rounded Chardonnay with some alcohol warmth. Serve with roasted poultry and pork dishes over the next 2-3 years. Chardonnay fruit hand-picked, WBP and partially barrel-fermented to 14.5% alc. and 2 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees 5 months. 17.0/20 Aug 2013 RRP $15.99
