Dow’s ‘Quinta Senhora da Ribeira’ Vintage Port 2008

Fortified Port Style from Portugal
Review Date : 24-Jun-2012
A single quinta port, ‘Senhora da Ribeira' meaning ‘Lady of the River', from vines 45% over 25 y.o., the vineyard planted to one-third Touriga Nacional. Bottled after approx. 24 months in cask. Dark ruby-red with purple and black hues. The bouquet possesses exotic dark red berry fruit aromas with dark red florals, plums and chocolate, unfolding complexing tar and minerals. Sweet and quite lush on palate, there is an opulence to the fruitiness, with ripe dark berries and plums along with liquorice and lifted black florals. Very fine-grained tannins form a refined textural line, the acidity restrained but hinting at lively tension. Alcohol spirit is unobtrusive and adds to the drive. Long on the finish, with bright primary fruit. This is an exotic and individual Vintage Port that will age 15-20+ years. 19.0-/20 Jun 2012 RRP $115.00
