Dow’s Late Bottled Vintage Port 2007

Fortified Port Style from Portugal
Review Date : 21-May-2013
Aged 4-6 years in seasoned oak casks, 20.0% alc. Seen as equivalent to a 15 y.o. vintage wine. Very dark, near impenetrable black-red with purple hues. The aromatics are bright and lifted with intense, ripe black fruits and dark florals. Sweet to taste, lusciously ripe black berry fruits show with vibrancy, with an elegantly proportioned mouthfeel. The palate is driven by some alcoholic power, and underlined by fine-grained tannins. Balanced acidity and spirit combine for fresh cut, the spirit slightly prominent, but clean and with quality. This has good driven linearity and the wine finishes dry, with a little grip and alcohol. This is a bright fruited, elegant LBV with some spirit drive. Match with chocolate desserts and cheeses. 17.5+/20 May 2013 RRP $54.95
