Dow’s 10 Y.O. Tawny Port

Fortified Port Style from Portugal
Review Date : 21-May-2013
Aged for an average of 10 years in seasoned oak casks, 20.0% alc. Deep tawny colour with some dark mahogany hues. The nose is very finely concentrated and tightly bound, with a deep core, showing crystalised fruits, raisins, and nutty rancio that unfolds detailed interest and complexing nuances. Medium-sweet to taste, the richness and sweetness is stylishly restrained, but there is a concentrated heart of dried fruits and nuts, a little toffee nuance. Complexing rancio is subtle and interwoven seamlessly. This has excellent alcohol drive and purity, with very fine, drying textures. The depth and linearity of flavours is the highlight and the finish is dry, very long and lingering. This is a textbook, drier Dow’s 10 Y.O. Tawny. Perfect with nuts and baked desserts or hard cheeses. 19.0-/20 May 2013 RRP $69.95
