Down To Earth Pays d’Oc Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot 2011

Cabernet Sauvignon from France - Other
Review Date : 01-Nov-2012
Very dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour. This has a full, dense and deep nose of well-ripened dark berry and savoury plum fruit aromas intertwined with dark garrigue herbs and earthy notes. Medium-full bodied, soft and plump flavours of juicy dark red fruits intermingle with herbs and strong earthy elements. The acidity is soft and tannins soft-textured, but effusive and mouthfilling, providing an up-front, dry presence. The fulsome flavours flow to a soft, dry, sustained finish with savoury, rustic, earthy notes. This is a soft, up-front and flavoursome country red with savoury fruit, herb and earthy characters. Match with casseroles and roasted or grilled red meat dishes over the next 3+ years. 51% Cabernet Sauvignon and 49% Merlot from hills in Capestang near Narbonne, Languedoc-Roussillon, indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc. Certified AB organic. 850 cases made for Turanga Creek. 17.0+/20 Nov 2012 RRP $20.00
