Don Aurelio ‘El Coraje’ Valdepenas Reserva Tempranillo 2010

Tempranillo from Spain
Review Date : 21-Jan-2016
Dark, deep, ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. This has a fresh and vibrant nose with lively, savoury dark red berry fruit aromas packed with earth, dried and fresh herb notes and subtle nutty suggestions. Medium-bodied, the palate is juicy and lively with up-front flavours of savoury red berry fruit unfolding an amalgam of herbs, earth and nuts. The fruit forms an elegant core with fine, grainy tannins lending a positively textured line. Lacy acidity provides good tension, and the wine carries to a moderately long, dry finish with savoury fruit notes. This is an elegant, juicy, savoury-fruited Tempranillo with a fine, dry-textured palate. Serve with antipasto, most red meat dishes and semi-hard cheeses over the next 3-4 years. From Bodegas Navarro Lopez, 100% Tempranillo from Castilla La Mancha, fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in barriques. 16.5+/20 Jan 2016 RRP $15.95
