Domenico Clerico ‘Pajana’ Barolo DOCG 2004

Nebbiolo from Italy - Piedmont
Review Date : 31-May-2012
Nebbiolo from ‘Ginestra', 14.5% alc., the wine aged 24-30 months in 80% new French oak barriques. Bright ruby-red colour, this has a very ine and intense nose of classical Nebbiolo aromatics, showing bright red berry fruits, red florals, nuances of spice and earthy complexities, a little oak smokiness emerging. Full-bodied, the structure of the wine is a highlight, exceptionally refined and fine textured, supporting tightly bound red fruits, quite sweet, infused with oak cedar, some subtle savoury secondary elements appearing, and a very long chalky finish, the oak showing ethereally. This is a very refined, modern expression with the extract to keep 15-20 years.  19.0-/20  May 2012
