Domaine Rewa Riesling 2016, Central Otago

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 03-Aug-2020
Bright, even, light yellow with a tinge of green. The bouquet is elegantly full, with fragrances of lime, lime flowers, cordial and pith, along with green apple, grapefruit, subtle spices and a gentle whiff of kerosene. Medium-dry to taste, green apple with its skin, lime juice and cordial have an excellent core presence, entwined with lime flowers, a light note of honey and chalky minerals. Medium-light in body, the chalky texture has given it palate weight. The fruit has good intensity, balanced taut acidity, flows lively with freshness and energy, brings to a dry and moreish finish. This is a vibrant Reisling with concentrated flavours of lime, green apple, honey, florals and delicate spices on a chalky mineral textured palate. Match with crispy pork belly and salty sausage casserole over the next 5 years. Biodynamic farming. BioGro organic certified. Fermented in stainless steel to 10.4% alc, 22 g/l RS. 2,580 bottles produced. 18.5+/20 pts Aug 2020 RRP $27
