Domaine Rewa Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 01-Apr-2022
Moderately deep ruby-red, lighter on the rim. This has a rich bouquet of black cherries, red berries melded with an amalgam of herbs, earth and subtle spice. Medium-bodied, red berries, black cherries enriched by earthy nuances, dark herbs, and a savoury closure with black pepper and cinnamon. The fruit's dense concentration reflects the earthy tones and broadens the palate. The mouthfeel is smooth with a grainy-textured tannin grip. This is an earthy Pinot Noir with concentrated fruit, herbs and a smooth-grainy textured palate. Match with venison and lamb stew over the next 8 years. Handpicked clones 5 & 113, wild-fermented separately in open-top stainless steel fermenters to 13.1% alc over 10-12 days, 100% destemmed, aged in French oak barrels for 12 months, 23% new oak. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Mar 2022 RRP $50
