Domaine Rewa Central Otago Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 25-Feb-2018
Dark ruby-red colour with some depth, lighter on the rim with slight purple hues. The nose id ethereal and voluminous with a deep core of ripe dark-red cherry fruit entwined with subtle notes of dark herbs, unfolding red florals and a little nutty oak. Medium-bodied, the palate has rich and sweetly ripe fruit flavours of dark-red and black cherries melded with some liquorice, spices and nutty oak detail. The flavours are softly mouthfilling and the fruit is supported by fine-grained tannin extraction lending texture and refined grip. The acidity is integrated and the wine carries along a velvety line to a lingering finish. This is a beautifully balanced, sweetly rich dark-red and black cherry fruited Pinot Noir with subtle herb, liquorice and spice notes on a fine-textured palate. Match with roast duck, pork, beef and lamb dishes over the next 5-6 years. Pinot Noir fruit, clones 5 and 113, hand-picked and indigenous yeast fermented to 12.6% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 28% bew French oak barriques. 18.5/20 Feb 2018 RRP $39.00 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
