Full, even, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues on edge. The nose is elegantly proportioned and harmoniously presented with raspberry and red and black berry fruits, along with nuances of plums and liquorice. Thyme herb, violet florals and toasty oak elements unfold, adding interest. Medium-bodied, sweet and succulent flavours of ripe red and black cherry fruit are lifted by aromatic floral and red plum notes. The fruit is supported by fine-grained, flowery tannins, balancing the fruit sweetness and providing proper structure and mouthfilling textures. The extraction and fresh, bright acidity carries the fruit to a soft, dry, floral finish. This is an elegantly rich Pinot Noir with fine textures and structure. Match with poultry and pork dishes over the next 5-6 years. Clones 113 and 115 hand-picked, destemmed, given a cold soak and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.7% alc., the wine aged 8 ½ months in 33% new French oak. 205 dozen made. 18.0-/20 Jan 2015 RRP $38.00
