Domaine Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er ‘Chevret’ 2010

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 04-Feb-2013
Ruby-red colour with good depth, some purple hues showing. The aromatics are soft and fine, quite delicate, with red floral lift alongside a chalky, minerally reductive aspect. Still, very tight and with a delicacy of nuance. Medium-full bodied, soft red florals and fruits are complexed by some meaty brettanomyces notes, not detracting significantly. Lovely acid finesse adds to the fruit perfume, and results in linearity and palate line drive. This is a fine-structured Volnay, with aromatics and acidity as its base, the red florals marked by a little corruption. Drink over 6-8 years. 17.0/20 Jan 2013
