Domaine Huet ‘Le Haut Lieu’ Vouvray Moelleux 2009

Chenin Blanc from France - Loire
Review Date : 09-Oct-2012
Bright straw-yellow colour with pale edge. This has a complex bouquet of sweet and sour cooked fruits along with honey, toast, caramel and nutty, oxidative notes. Medium-sweet to taste, an array of flavours of yellow stonefruits, bruised apples, honey, caramel raisins and nuts show on palate with real interest unfolding layers of detail. This has fine, lacy acidity that has piquancy and cut to match the richness, breadth and slight phenolic texture. This is a complex, gently honied style, just showing some nutty elements that suggest some oxidative elements. This will keep 5-6 years. Fruit from the 9 ha clay-limestone ‘Haut-Lieu' estate, from 40 y.o. vines. 12.5% alc., approx. 50 g/L rs. 18.0+/20 Oct 2012
