Domaine Francois Lamarche Echezeaux Grand Cru 2011

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 27-Aug-2014
Very dark, deep, purple-hued ruby-red colour, youthful in appearance. This has a complex and savoury bouquet with an amalgam of ripe black and dark red berry fruits with some herb and stalk elements intermixed with subtle sappy oak and reductive notes. Fulsome on palate, the mouthfeel is soft and fleshy with up-front ripe black berry and plum fruits, lifted by aromatic and spicy oak. The palate is well concentrated with a firmly extracted core that emerges to become the feature, forming a strong, driven and packed line leading to a long finish. This has an intriguing mix of ripe fruit with herb and stalky comolexities. 7-9 years. From 1.32 ha with 0.63 ha in ‘Les Cruots’, 0.45 ha in ‘Clos St Denis’ and 0.24 ha in ‘Champs Traversins’. 18.0/20 Aug 2014 RRP $199.00
