Domaine Francois Lamarche Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2011

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 27-Aug-2014
Very dark, deep-hearted ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. The nose is bold with intensely concentrated with ripe black and dark red fruits, along with a complex amalgam of oak spices, black pepper and some reduction, the bouquet revealing violet floral nuances with aeration. Full-bodied and solidly packed, the palate features a firm core of black fruits, spicy oak and reductive minerally-earthy complexities. The wine is tightly bound and firm in mouthfeel, the ripe, sweet fruit underlined by oak tannins and acidity. This is solid and taut, with bold fruit and oaking, and will keep a decade. From 1.36 ha, three parcels contributing, two from the top of the site from opposite sides, one from the bottom. 18.0-/20 Aug 2014 RRP $199.00
