Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er ‘Clos St Jacques’ 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 18-Feb-2014
Deep garnet-red colour with some bricking on rim. This has a classical bouquet with ripe, dark-red cherry and berry fruit aromas entwined with soft and complex layers of savoury red florals and gamey notes, showing whole bunch and a little funky interest, with oak elements. Rich, full-bodied, juicy and sweet-fruited on palate, ripe savoury red berry fruit and game-like flavours fill the mouth. The sweetness and lusciousness is supported by supple tannins and rounded textures, with good acid drive and linearity. This is a fulsome, funky wine with some brettanomyces, not quite refined, and now beginning to show some development without any drying out. This will keep 7-9 years. 18.0+/20Feb 2014 RRP $N/A
