Domaine Faiveley Mercurey 1er ‘Clos des Myglands’ 2011

Pinot Noir from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 08-Jul-2014
Light ruby colour with some depth, and purple hues of youth. The bouquet is fresh and lifted with ethereal aromas of red berry fruits, strawberries and a soft earthiness, all gently interwoven. A lighter bodied wine on palate with up-front, primary soft- red fruits, showing some sweetness and enlivened by elevated acidity. This is pretty and floral, but unfolds a fine core and earthy linearity, leading to a dry finish. This is light, racy, aromatic and refreshing. Drink over the next 5+ years. A monopole, 6.31 ha, vines up to 48 y.o., the wine aged 14-16 months in oak. Average 2,950 cases made. (375 ml) 16.5+/20 Jul 2014 RRP $27.99
