Domaine Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er ‘Combes Aux Moines’ 2010

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 17-Jul-2012
Light ruby-red colour with some purple hues, this has a very full and softly presented nose with solid, rich and ripe aromas of black fruits, savoury herbs, ‘blood and fur' typical of Gevrey-Chambertin. Very full, open and rich with subtly luscious black berry fruits, this shows dark red and violet florals and subtle layers of animal and complex earth nuances that open up on a very fine, textured palate. The tannins feature with the fruit a little in the background at present, and the wine shows textbook ageworthy austerity. This is a wine for 15+ years of cellaring and development. 18.5-/20 Jul 2012 RRP $117.95
