Domaine Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er ‘Clos des Issats’ 2011

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 08-Jul-2014
Moderately deep ruby-red colour, pale on rim. The nose is elegant in proportion with delicate red berry fruit aromas entwined with subtle floral lift and earthy, game-like nuances. Some oak spice adds to the aromatic lift. Elegantly presented, sweet red berry fruits and lifted red florals form a softly concentrated core with some richness and very fine detailed game nuances. The fruit is framed by refined tannins and crisp lacy acidity. This has more to unfold, and the fruit depth and drive carries the wine to a long, perfumed and nuanced finish. This will develop into an elegant, detailed Gevrey-Chambertin over the next 7-8 years. A monopole, 0.61 ha, vines 41 y.o., the wine aged 16-18 months in oak, two-thirds new. Average 215 cases made. 17.5/20 Jul 2014 RRP $134.99
