Domaine Faiveley Corton Grand Cru ‘Clos des Cortons Faiveley’ 2011

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 08-Jul-2014
A monopole, from 3.01 ha, vines up to 75 y.o., the wine aged 16-18 months in oak, two-thirds new. Average 1,315 cases made. Moderately deep ruby-red colour lighter edged. This has a full, broad and solidly constructed nose with brash dark red berry fruits intermixed with savoury undergrowth and dried herbal complexities, along with a red floral lift. Full-bodied, broad and mouthfilling, the fruit is openly accessible, but framed by robust extraction and grip. The tannins are rounded, with a degree of suppleness. The wine blossoms in savoury, near-funky game, earth and herb elements providing a complex array of flavours, and lead to a fulsome finish. Serve with game meat over the next 7-10+ years. 18.5-/20 Jul 2014 RRP $261.99
