Domaine Faiveley Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2011

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 08-Jul-2014
Even, light ruby-red colour, paler on rim. The nose is refined and elegantly presented, and quite complete with tightly bound aromas of dark cherry fruit, raspberries, penetrating floral purity and subtle minerally notes. Very elegant in proportion, the fruit is concentrated with sweet dark red cherry and berry flavours, lifted by red floral notes, and complexed by subtle oak toast and mineral nuances. The palate is one of finesse, with very fine-grained, velvety tannins providing beautiful structure and lacy acidity lending vitality and vibrancy. The wine flows to a very elegant, lingering finish of pure floral fruit and a fine textural line. Elegance, finesse and purity will see this drink well over the next 6-10 years. From 1.28 ha in three parcels, vines up to 71 y.o., the wine aged 16-18 months in oak, two-thirds new. Average 490 cases made. 18.5+/20 Jul 2014 RRP $279.99
