Domaine Faiveley Chambertin ‘Clos de Beze’ Grand Cru 2006

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 28-Aug-2012
Based in Nuits-St Georges. From 1.29 ha, 13.5% alc. Deep garnet-hued red with bricking on rim. This is beautifully rich and layered on bouquet, unfolding waves of soft, dark red fruits with complex savoury notes of game and mushrooms. Very secondary in expression, but with sensational interwoven nuances that keep on emerging. Very rich and packed with layers of complex flavours. Beginning to harmonise and showing real integration, the amalgam of red fruits, game, earth and undergrowth showing with sweetness. Warming, generous, but not overt or overly sized, the tannis fine and leading to a drying finish, the acidity beautifully understated. A wine more forward than others, say 6-9 years. 19.5-/20 Aug 2012
