Domaine Dujac Echezeaux Grand Cru 2008

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 07-Mar-2014
Moderately deep ruby-red with some garnet hues, lighter on rim. The bouquet is very finely presented with intensely focussed aromas of lifted red berry fruits complexed by pronounced oak toast and layers of funky dried herbs and minerally elements providing great interest and detail. Medium-full bodied, the flavours of lusciously sweet and acid enlivened red berry fruits are up-front, bold and penetrating. An array of savoury herbal, spice, game and earthy elements meld with distinctive and strong toasty oak waves. The palate has fine and positive background extraction and structure, but is driven by the crisp acidity that leads to an elegantly sized, lingering finish. This is an intensely flavoured Echezeaux with bold toasty oak and brisk acidity. A statement of style. 8-10+ years. From 0.69 ha, from 25 y.o. vines, in ‘Champs Traversin. 18.5+/20 Feb 2014 RRP $325.00
