Domaine Drouhin Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from USA
Review Date : 02-Aug-2013
Light, purple-hued ruby-red colour, youthful. This has a soft and subtle raspberry essence and liqueur-like bouquet the fruit quite primary and pure. This has ripeness and excellent intensity. Medium-bodied, tightly concentrated and intensely penetrating fruit flavours form a dense core. Ripe dark raspberry fruit flavours reveal some funky detail and nuance, the oaking quite discreet. The tannins are very fine, and youthfully firm, and along with fresh, lacy acidity provide excellent line and drive. A little alcohol adds a little power. The palate has concentration and balance, carrying the flavours to a long and sustained finish. This is a fine, driven Pinot Noir with subtle detail and interest. 5-7+ years. Fermented to 13.9% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 20% new French oak. 18.5+/20 Jul 2013 RRP USD $40.00
