Domaine de Noiré Caractere AOC Chinon 2016, France

Cabernet Franc from France - Loire
Review Date : 22-Nov-2022
Ruby-red with depth and clarity, slightly lighter on the rim. This has a broody, lifted bouquet, aromas of blackberry, red currant and cherry entwined with vine leaf, spice and cedar. Medium-bodied, blackberry, red currant and cherry aromas have a taut core, unfolding blackcurrant leaf, cocoa, and an amalgam of spice and cedar linger. Fine minerals and chassis tannins flow with lacy acidity and good energy to a long finish. This Chinon is elegant and pretty with good backbones and minerality on a silky mouthfeel. Match with goat stew and casserole over the next 6+ years. Cabernet Franc from 45-70-year-old vines on limestone soils, aged 13 months in 400-litre oak barrels, 13% alc. Organic certified. 18.5+/20 (94 pts) Nov 2022 RRP $45.50
