Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Echezeaux Grand Cru 2008

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 07-Mar-2014
Medium-deep ruby-red colour with garnet hues. This has a very fine and softly ethereal nose of finesse that gradually unfolds layers of detail featuring ripe red berry fruits, dark red florals, dried herbs and earth with mineral complexities. As the bouquet unfolds, a very fine and tight core to the aromatic is revealed. Medium-full bodied and refined in its density and concentration, this has a building fruit and textural richness that has layers of red fruits, savoury minerals and dried herbs. The componentry is very harmonious and proportioned and the palate grows in completeness. Structurally elegant and very refined, but there is absolutely no lack of substance. Fresh acidity underlines the line, but in no way is intrusive. Beautiful, subtle and with substance. 12-15 years. From 4.67 ha, vines 40-50 y.o., with 4.25 ha in ‘Les Poulaillers’ and the remainder in ‘Clos St Denis’. 19.0/20 Feb 2014 RRP $1,000.00
