Domaine de la Mordoree ‘La Dame Rousse’ Cotes du Rhone 2011

Grenache from France - Rhone
Review Date : 12-Oct-2012
Very dark, very deep, full black red with youthful purple hues to the colour. The bouquet is full and firmly packed with lifted whole berry and jammy, dark raspberry fruits, along with earth and dark herbal notes. Full-bodied, this is solidly packed with plush, very ripe, dark raspberry jam fruit flavours that unfold layers of garrigue herbs and earth. The acidity is low, adding to the soft, broad mouthfeel, and a gentle, supple tannin thread builds in grip to lead to a dry, finely textured finish. This is a big, soft, juicy Grenache-based southern Rhone red packed full of jammy raspberry flavours. Match with hearty pasta, barbecued food and red meat dishes over the next 4-5 years. 40% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 15% Cinsault, 10% Carignan and 5% Counoise from 20 y.o. vines. 14.0% alc. 17.5+/20 Oct 2012 RRP $20.50
