Domaine Bellene Bourgogne ‘Maison Dieu’ 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 01-Apr-2012
The new domaine of Nicolas Potel, based in Beaune, the wines from old vines, managed biodynamically. Dark, deep, ruby-red colour, youthful in appearance. This has a firm, subdued nose, showing dark berry fruit aromas marked by herbs and sulphide reduction. Medium-bodied, this has a deep and firm core of dark berry fruit flavours, along with dark fresh herb elements. There is an underlying sweetness, along with oak spice, but the textures are firm and tannic, with hard lines which mute the fruit aromatics. The wine finishes with herbal flavours and crisp acidity. Some bottle age may see this soften and develop interest as the reduction melds with secondary notes. 3-4+ years. 16.0-/20 Mar 2012 RRP $44.00
