Domaine Bellene Beaune 1er ‘Montee Rouge’ 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 01-Apr-2012
Dark ruby-red with depth, lighter on rim. The nose has fresh, stalky and unsettled aromatics, with base red berry fruit and spicy oak, all a little shy. Medium-weighted, this is elegant in expression on palate, quite mellow, with light, soft red berry fruit and oaking noticeable. Fresh acidity and fine-grained tannins show with balance, forming a good core and line through to a fairly firm finish with dark violet-like florals. A smaller-scale wine, with some cooler fruit notes, but balanced and reasonably complete. One to drink over the next 6-7+ years. 18.0-/20 Mar 2012 RRP $99.00
