Domaine A. et P. de Villaine Bourgogne Cote Chalonnaise ‘La Digoine’ 2010

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 04-Feb-2013
Lighter ruby-red, pale on rim. The bouquet is one of vibrancy and bright red fruit aromas, with good depth and some concentration, some real volume. Medium-bodied, bright red fruits are the feature, the wine showing lovely vitality and freshness. The acidity enlivens the mouthfeel, and the fruit follows a driven line, with fine-grained tannins. The flavours have some savoury layers built in, but in no way intrude on the fruit primacy. The finish is long. This is a relatively modest burgundy that impresses with its vibrancy and vitality and balanced structural support. A wine for 5-6+ years. 17.5-/20 Jan 2013
