Domain Road ‘The Water Race’ Central Otago Dry Riesling 2011

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 06-Jun-2012
Fruit from the ‘Domain Road' vineyard in Bannockburn, WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 5.7 g/L rs. Very pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. This has a very fresh and pure bouquet of limes and lemons, showing good depth, revealing a little mineral and flinty interest. Dry to taste, pure citrus fruit flavours are expressed with excellent clarity. The palate has bright, racy, mouthwatering acidity and a very fine mouthfeel, and the wine is an elegantly proportioned one. The fruit is still tightly bound, tending taut, and the finish is delicate with lime and mineral nuances. This is a dry, refined, refreshing and minerally Riesling that is still youthful and tight, but it will evolve well over the next 5-6 years. Serve as an aperitif or with seafood. 18.0/20 Jun 2012 RRP $27.00
