Domain Road ‘The Water Race’ Central Otago Dry Riesling 2010

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 24-May-2011
Named after the water channels dug by gold miners, still used today in farming and viticulture. The Bannockburn fruit was given a little skin contact and fermented to 13.5% alc. with 7 g/L rs. Soft, pale, straw-yellow colour, this has a very intense, piercing nose of white florals, lime juice and citrus fruits and minerals. Dry to taste, this is very tightly bound on palate, but showing lovely delicacy of lime fruit, lifted florals, minerals and wet stone flavours. There is good, racy acidity and very fine textures that contribute to depth, excellent line through the palate and a long, nuanced, dry finish. This will intensify in flavour and develop more complexities over the next 4-6+ years. Serve as an aperitif, or with shellfish. 18.5/20 May 2011 RRP $23.00
