Domain Road ‘The Water Race’ Bannockburn Central Otago Dry Riesling 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 11-Apr-2017
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The bouquet is very tightly bound with a fine, firm and intense core of lime and lemon fruit along with mouthwatering wet-tone minerals and subtle complexing toasty notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegant in proportion with finely concentrated flavours of limes and lemons entwined with thirst-quenching minerals and nuances of toast. The palate flows along a fine-textured line of fruit extract and phenolics, with balanced acidity lending brightness and vitality. The wine carries to a light, long lingering finish of citrus fruits, minerals and toasty hints. This is a very tightly bound and finely concentrated dry Riesling with lime and lemon fruit entwined with mineral and toasty detail on a tut palate. Serve as an aperitif and with shellfish over the next 5+ years. Bannockburn fruit, 77% from the ‘Domain Road’ vineyard and 23% from the ‘Defiance’ vineyard, hand-picked and WBP, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 5.1 g/L RS, TA 7.84 g/L and pH 2.98. 18.5-/20 Apr 2017 RRP $25.00
