Domain Road ‘Duffers Creek’ Bannockburn Central Otago Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 06-May-2013
Named after a small creek in the Bannockburn hills. Hand-picked Bannockburn fruit, WBP and stainless-steel fermented to 11.0% alc. and 19 g/L rs. Bright, very pale straw colour with sligh green hues. Very delicate aromas of white florals, lime fruit and slate-like, mouthwatering minerals are juxtaposed on a tightly bound and very refined nose. Medium-dry to taste, pure flavours of lime fruit and minerals interact beautifully with the residual sugar and acidity, providing subtle richness and lusciousness along with liveliness and vibrancy. The flavours follow a very fine line with a subtle textural thread, and the palate is one of poise and balance. This is mouth-wateringly refreshing and the palate leads to a fine, lifted finish with great length. This is a delicate and beautifully balanced medium-dry Riesling with purity and refinement. Serve as an aperitif and with fine Asian fare over the next 4-5+ years. 18.5+/20 May 2013 RRP $25.00
