Domain Road Central Otago Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 06-May-2013
Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on rim. This has an intense and concentrated bouquet of bright, black cherry and berry fruits entwined with blackberry essence and dark herb aromas. Subtle oak spice nuances and black pepper detail become revealed in the glass. Medium-full bodied, tightly concentrated flavours of black cherries and berries reveal layers of dark herbs, liquorice and mineral notes. The fruit has depth and is framed by fine-grained tannin structure that provides plenty of mouthfeel. This extraction is balanced by good acidity and fruit sweetness. The palate has excellent linearity and drive that carries the flavours to a very long, textural finish that unfolds spices and herbal notes. This is a concentrated, fine-grained and textural Pinot Noir with black fruit flavours and the structure to match most roasted red meat dishes over the next 5-6+ years. Bannockburn fruit fully destemmed and fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in French barriques. 18.5-/20 May 2013 RRP $39.00
