Domain Road Central Otago Pinot Noir 2008

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 24-May-2011
Moderately deep ruby-red colour with a pale, garnet-hued edge, this has a full, voluminous, fresh bouquet of fragrant red berry fruits, cherries and red flowers, beautifully refined, yet with concentration. Medium-bodied, this has very attractive, lush and succulent red fruit flavours backed with nuances of spicy oak set on a silky textured palate. The tannin extraction is very fine and supple, allowing the sweetness of the fruit feature. The freshness of the acidity and depth of flavour will enable cellaring for 5-7+ years. Five clones of Pinot Noir are planted in the Bannockburn vineyard and employed in this wine. Fermented to 14.0% alc. the wine then aged 15 months in French oak barrels. This will accompany salmon, tuna, duck and pork. 19.0-/20 May 2011 RRP $37.00
